Picture refinement.

Olympic rings.

For the tab which folds up on my design, i have decided to put the Olympic rings with famous British athletes in the middle.

Track list.

For the track list of my final piece i have chosen the following songs:
The Verve - Bittersweet Symphony

Oasis - Wonderwall

Underworld - Caliban's dream.

Muse - survival.

London Symphony Orchestra - Chariots of Fire

Coldplay - Viva La Vida

Adele - Rolling in the Deep

Franz Ferdinand - Take Me Out.

Madness - Our House

Elbow - One Day Like This

The Clash - Should I Stay or Should I Go

Emeli Sande - Read All About It

Kaiser Chiefs - Pinball Wizard

I have chosen these songs as these songs were ones which were often played in London 2012 Olympic games and all of the songs are very upbeat songs which could inspire athletes.

Map.

For the background of the back of my piece, i decided i wanted to show the place where the games originated from. so i picked an old looking map of greece for my track list to go over.

Newpaper.

For the front of my piece, i decided i wanted to make it look like a newspaper with many different olympic headlines from over the years scattered over it. To do this, i scanned a newspaper for my background and researched various, famous headlines from across the olympic years. i then placed them on the newspaper background changing the opacity and font size to give it a layered, distant look.

Old Pictures.

I have also been creating pictures like the one above for the inside of my CD cover. I first added a box around the picture and block coloured the background white, I then added a drop shadow to make it look a if the picture is sticking out from the paper. I then duplicated the image, desaturated it, altered the colour balance (increasing the red bar to around +30 and decreasing the yellow bar to around -30) and then I added a noise of 25 to the image, which gave it an old looking effect.
I did the same steps to several images.

Torch 3.

This was my third attempt at the olympic torch. I have used the same gradient effect and liquify as the pervious two. This version has a blue outline around the top edge of the fire. Overall, I think my second attempt at the torch was the most effective and the most realistic one.

Torch 2.

This was my second attempt at the Olympic torch. For this version, i have used the same gradient effect, and i have used the liquify filter to make the fire look more intricate and less cartoon-like.

Torch.

For my final piece, i decided to make the Olympic torch. The torch had a gradient which lightened the colour towards the middle of the torch. The effect given from the gradient colour is that it makes the torch look more spherical and 3D.

Olympic Rings.

I have been refining my Olympic rings idea,  this design relates to my brief as i am looking at British athletes in the Olympic history.
